Keanu Reeves, known for his legendary roles in The Matrix and John Wick series, made his professional auto racing debut at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Saturday, competing in the Toyota GR Cup. While he managed to reach the 21st position at one point in the race, Reeves ultimately finished 25th out of 35 racers. Though the Constantine star’s performance showed promise, he encountered a mishap about halfway through the 45-minute race, spinning into the grass at the Turn 9 exit. Fortunately, the spin did not result from a collision, according to the Associated Press.
In the days leading up to the event, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway shared footage of Reeves preparing for the race in a red No. 92 car sponsored by Boom! Studios— the publisher of his comic series BRZRKR—and tire manufacturer Continental. This marked Reeves’ return to the track after winning a celebrity race at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach back in 2009. Despite his star-studded acting career, Reeves has pursued several ventures outside of Hollywood, from co-creating his comic book series to recently reviving his band Dogstar. He also co-owns Arch Motorcycle, a company that builds custom bikes. His auto racing debut is just another chapter in the diverse adventures of this multi-talented star.
